Ellie Armstrong is a classically trained ballet and contemporary dancer, with a background in gymnastics, handstand contortion, acting, showjumping and surfing. Born in Oxford, UK, Ellie started training in gymnastics at 3 years old, before going on to compete around the country winning various medals and certificates. Falling in love with dance during lockdown after taking her first ballet class in February 2021, Ellie pursued vocational training in September 2022, before graduating with a BA(Hons) Degree in Ballet Performance in 2026. Having been an associate with Midland Theatre Ballet since October 2022, Ellie has expanded her repertoire, gained experience and heightened her performance skills. Through training at both Ballet Theatre UK and Midland Theatre Ballet, Ellie has had the opportunity to perform some incredible works, including; Euphoria, a contemporary work by Hannah Connor, ‘Solitude is Where I lay my chaos to rest”, a contemporary work by Hannah Connor, the role of Enchanted Rose in Beauty and the Beast, Snow White’s friends in Snow White, Coppelia in Coppelia, Black Swan Corps in Swan Lake, Dorothy’s Friends in the Wizard Of Oz, Ghost girl, Christmas Present Corps, Maid and Fezziwig Girl in Ballet Theatre UK’s tour of A Christmas Carol.

Having started ballet a lot later than the majority of people aiming to make this a career, Ellie has worked non-stop to catch up to the level of her peers, taking extra classes, coaching, associate programs, workshops and masterclasses. Ellie is growing her network and gaining knowledge and experience and is attending Motionhouse on placement with the company in December 2025. Also, after attending the American Academy of Ballet in New York City in summer 2025, Ellie was offered 2 full scholarships to Mostra Danca in Sao Paulo under Erick Da Silva at the start of 2026 and in Portugal in July 2026.

Ellie attends regular professional contemporary classes in Leicester, Birmingham, Leamington Spa and more around the country in an effort to gain experience, knowledge and meet a variety of new people. Through taking regular professional classes, Ellie has expanded her repertoire and also her network, which has led to many opportunities that she will be lucky enough to fulfil in 2026.

In 2026, Ellie is also going to continue to expand her knowledge by taking extra aerial classes, something which she did a lot of when she was younger but since starting full time training hasn’t had as much time for this. Adding this to her pot of skills will stand her in a good place for the upcoming audition season.
